Lil' Slugger Baby Shower

Today I am going to share some photos from something I actually had or took the time to do myself! This isn't a post from someone else's blog.
Tonight Tristina, Char and I threw my sister Lani a baby shower. We were deciding between a little man shower and a lil' slugger theme. I think we made the right choice for these two. We did a concessions stand with Sliders, mini hot dogs, nachos with real nacho trays, and a french fry bar (didn't seem to get a photo of any of those), mini egg salad sandwiches, (Grrr! I couldn't find my edible marker to make the ball lace lines!) and a baseball diamond fruit tray with fruit dip.
Over at the candy concessions we had salted peanuts, personalized labeled Hershey's nuggets, Boston baked beans, kettle corn, buttered popcorn, licorice, chocolate covered raisins, gummy coke bottles, Baby Ruth, and Double Bubble.
At the Game table we did 4 activities that people could do as they wished. (I was sick of telling people at showers in the past to play my organized games when most people just wanted to chat and mingle.) We had a "What's in the Bag" game where people would guess the contents of the 7 white bags, Guess how many Double Bubble are in the container, Unscramble the baby words and write an encouraging note on the diaper to Lani and Hock for those late night diaper changes.
Then we had bags of Cracker Jacks with either a big Baby Ruth or Big League Chew for everyone as they left.
All in all, I think it was a pretty successful night. My brother-in-law was quite impressed and appreciative of my ability to throw a baseball party despite my lack of enthusiasm and knowledge for baseball.
Thanks Char and Tristina, I had lots of fun!

Pea in a Pod Birthday

Hello!  I am back!  I got lost in the Pinterest world.  I kind of dropped off the face of the earth b/c I was just pinning in Pinterest.  But I think there is a place for both this and Pinterest in my life.  While I will still pin on Pinterest, it doesn't give me a place to post when I do finally take the time to do things.  So that I will continue to do here.

This week was my daughter's 1st Birthday.  Her cousin is only 3 days younger so we decided to do a Pea in a Pod Birthday party.  It turned out darling if I do say so myself! ;)

I ordered the plates, cups and personalized lip balm from Big Dot of Happiness.  They have cute stuff.  I saw the cupcakes on a blog a while ago.  But I can't remember where.  I believe the blog said to roll green starburst for the peas but after buying the tropical bag of Starbursts (only to find that it no longer has the green kiwi ones anymore...I swear it used to have green ones.  Am I crazy?) I decided to use green skittles.  The pods were made from Airheads.  Thank you Tristina and Char for your help getting them ready.

Count Down to Valentine's

Ok, I know Valentine's Day is way far off. But that is what this site is for. To remind me of all the darling ideas I have seen. This is a cute idea for a Valentine's count down by Secrets of a Super Mommy. She ROCKS! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her ideas!

Birthday Wreath

I am so going to make one of these:

There are lots of tutorials out there. But this one on "Two More Seconds" makes it seem so easy:

Here is another one at "Bits of Everything". She adds ribbon that adds a cute touch:My Cousin made one and had a place to hang a photo of the birthday person in the middle. Cute Eh?
